Sherpa's Tastebuds food festival is happening next weekend

Sebastian Morgan TimeOutShanghai 2019-04-12

Seasoning up the holidays with a celebration of good food and goodwill, Sherpa’s are set to take their first leap offline and into Jingan’s 800 Show for a full-on sensory feast that offers the best to eat, drink, swoon and sway to from Shanghai’s ever-growing culinary scene. Next Saturday 2 December from midday-8pm, Tastebuds food festival promises to load up with bites and sips from 13 international restaurants, plus bars and bartenders and a full programme of live music, DJs and prizes for a day out that'll be sure to leave all five senses tingling.

El Luchador

Hungry? Homeslice will be repping New York style pizza and the East Coast, together with Changning’s favourite sandwich joint Deli Boys. Then there's winter warmers to sweeten the season in the guise of Dodu’s plump rotisserie chickens and Organic Kitchen’s hearty feet-by-the-fire soups, while spicy food aficionados can appease their penchant for picante at El Luchador and Masala Art. The Isles will be battering authenticity into real Great British fish n' chips, and if you think you still have room for more, loosen your belt and polish of your plate with the likes of Brothers Kebab, Tomatito, Pushkin, and more. Dishes will be priced 30-40RMB each.

Dodu

Need something to wash all that down? The likes of Torres Vinoteca will be providing the beer and wine from the long list of booze you can order from Sherpa's to your door on any given day, while Magpie and a line-up of some of the city's best bartenders will be serving up a range of cocktails for the thirsty masses.

Brothers Kebab

Looking past the menu, Tastebuds will be offering a cobbler of auditory food for the soul. Expect a medley of soulful acoustics by soloist Sarah Mou and tunes from Redic and The Storm Riders. There’ll also be plentiful doses of old school hip hop, R'n'B and throwback jams by DJ Heatwolves (Love Bang) and LINDBERG, and The Cool Kids will be playing your favourite covers live, capped with stand-up by Kung Fu Komedy’s Andy Curtain.

Plus, in support of the Heart to Heart foundation – which provides corrective surgery for children with congenital heart defects all over China – Tastebuds are sweetening an already sweetened deal with multiple prize giveaways to the table, offering chances to win all whole slew of things including an iPhone 8. They’re also selling a specially designed tote bag to help you lug around all of your winnings for just 25RMB.

Excited much? We are.
